The people who knew and loved Tommy...

Mom

Tommy's Mom (Emily).  They shared their love for the comic superheroes the X-Men.  Wolverine is a long time favorite of Emily's and the character that Tommy chose to name his son afer.

Meema

Tommy's grandmother , Anetta, or "Meema" as he called her (right) and her youngest sister Pam.  Tommy was much closer to his Meema than most people outside his friends and family truly know.  She recieved a letter from him after the funeral that was postmarked the day after he was killed.  In it he wrote:
"Keep your chin up and hope gives us wings and with wings anything is possible."  Simple words of comfort at a time when they were truly needed.

Aunt Pam (though she lived in Memphis) was a big source of Tommy's "spoiling" when he was little.  Never having children of her own, she made it a point to spoil her nephews as much as possilbe.

Dad

Wedding picture with Dad (Tom) and step-mom (Angie).  Tom and Emily (Tommy's Mom) divorced when Tommy and his brother, David were very young.  It was after Tommy was stationed at Fort Cambell with the 101st that he and his father were finally able to build a relationship and they had become very close.

PawPaw

This is Tommy's Pawpaw, Bob.  Bob was married to Anetta when Tommy was born they later divorced and he is currently married to Reba.  Tommy loved his Pawpaw dearly, although he rarely got to see him as he got older.
Bob is a memeber of the Tennessee National Guard and was stationed in Fort Campbell awaiting possible deployment to Iraq when we got the news of Tommy's death.  Medical difficulties kept Bob from deploying and he is still stationed in Fort Campbell.

Maternal Great-Grandparents
L.B. and Christine

Tommy was most definately a "Granny's boy" when he was growing up.  His Granny (Christine) doted on Tommy all of the time.  When he turned 16 and got his drivers license they would often take off and just "ride around".  Tommy also often took Granny to the Senior Citizens center and would often sit in with her and her elderly friends while they played games of ROOK.

BROTHERS

Tommy with brothers David and Sean on his wedding day.  Tommy and David were much like twins growing up and he grew close to Sean after spending some time living with his Dad while he was stationed at Ft.Campbell.

Aunt Sherry and Uncle Scott

This is Tommy's Aunt Sherry and Uncle Scott and his cousins Bobby Ray (left rear) and Matthew (right rear).   Though they live in Louisville, KY they were still very close to Tommy and the rest of the family back home in Dresden.  Matthew is a Junior ROTC cadet.

Aunt and Uncle

This picture is of Tommy's uncle, Gene, and me when we got married in April of 1988.  Tommy was 8 years and David was 7 at that time and both were as much stinkers as they were cute.  You can tell how cute he was! (pictured front left in front of me)

Being 12 when Tommy was born and 13 when David was born, Gene grew up with both boys and they seemed more like little brothers to him than nephews.

Cousin: Dave

In 1989 when Dave was born, Tommy was 9 years old.  Tommy and David spent their fair share of time picking on, and playing with Dave.  By the time Tommy and David were old enough to graduate, Dave was getting big enough to go play basketball and stuff with them at the park.  During the summers Tommy would often take Dave to the swimming pool up town to swim.  They were as close as brothers and Dave has felt Tommy's loss as that of his own brother.
